Le Pavillon d'Histoire Locale

Located in the Château Chanorier at Croissy, the Pavillon d’Histoire Locale is dedicated to the town’s history. The exhibition allows you to learn everything about the town through the large display of maps and ancient books, bearing witness to the farming life of the village, which eventually became a highly popular holiday destination.
The Pavillon d’Histoire Locale (local history pavilion) exhibition is divided into two sections.
“Croissy through the ages”
Discover the history of Croissy-sur-Seine, the origins of its name and coat of arms, its oldest streets... Then travel back through time, starting from the Norman invasion to the arrival of the railway in the town. The exhibition concludes with the history of the town monuments: the château, Joséphine’s house, the old and new churches, and notable local figures.
“Croissy, the market garden”
The second section answers the question: "Why did vegetable farming develop in Croissy?". Through an exhibition showing different items of equipment and materials, learn all about the farming methods, tools and tasks of the vegetable producer, including the harvest and the activity at
