Everyone is welcome to the workshops to see the restoration of old boats!  Learn all about the construction of yawls, skiffs and different types of canoe.  Feel free to drop in and a member of the friendly team will introduce you to “Suzanne” or the “Nymphée”, and show you round our collection of boats.

Run by people who are passionate about their work, the association is committed to defending and preserving the heritage of the river in Ile-de-France.

They restore or build replicas of pleasure boats from the golden age of boating (1880 to 1972), including oars, paddles, sails, heat engines and steam engines.  Their experience is not just restricted to the technical aspects of boating; they are also delighted to share their knowledge of the leisure activities, local trades, painting and literature of the era.

Volunteers are on hand in all seasons to welcome you into the workshops and show you round the collection of leisure craft built between 1880 and 1950, including yawls, skiffs, as well as different types of canoe, including French and Canadian.

Sequana has also rebuilt three symbolic replica boats:

- “Roastbeef”, one of the sailing boats designed and built in 1892 by Impressionist painter Gustave Caillebotte;

- “Nymphée”, replica of a 1899 Chatou monotype,

- “Suzanne”, a steam-driven launch dating back to 1882, with its original engine.

Themed tours can be arranged to suit your interests and level of expertise: choose from subjects ranging from boating and the Impressionists, to the construction techniques of small leisure craft, steam boats in the 19^th century, and methods of water propulsion.
