Château de Monte-Cristo

The house of Alexandre Dumas is situated in Port-Marly, between Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Marly-le-Roi. A walk in the park and a visit of the chateau will make you discver the universe of the famouse writer of the "Three Musketeers".

Not to be missed :

The park : landscaped grounds with caves, waterfalls and rocks.
The chateau : in a renaissance style with sculpted facades covered in floral boquets, medallion portraits of writers and strange animals.
The Moorish room : an architectural gem restored with the support of his majesty king Hassan II of Morocco.
The chateau d'If : a neo-gothci pavillion overhanging the hill, in which Alexandre Dumas had set up his study.

Opening hours :

for individuals:
- from the 1st of April to the 31 of October : every days except on Monday, from 10:00 am to 12:30 am and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
- from the 2nd of November to 31th of March : open on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.

Guided tours for individuals every Sundays from 2:30 pm. Be careful, fare limited.
- in high season (from 1st of April to 31 of October) : last tour at 5:00 pm.
- in low season (from 2sd of November to 31 of March) : last tour at 4:00 pm.

For groups :
open every year except on Monday.Bookings at the Tourist Office.

Individual transport :
A13, exit Saint-Germain-en-Laye - Marly-le-Roi, route de versailles (RN186) to le Port-Marly, follow the roadsign.
N 13 from Saint-Germain-en-Laye, exit Marly-le-Roi, take the road "avenue de l'Europe", entrance with the Europe's clinic.
N 13 from Rueil-Malmaison, at the Port-Marly, take direction of Versailles, at Marly-le-Roi, take the road "avenue de l'Europe" direction "Europe's clinic".

Common transport :
S.N.C.F. station Paris Saint-Lazare, direction Saint-Nom-la-Bretêche, stop at Marly-le-Roi then bus n°10 CONNEX direction Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Stop at "Les Lampes" take after the road "chemin des Montferrands" by foot.
R.E.R. line A, direction and stop Saint-Germain-en-Laye, then bus n°10 CONNEX direction Marly-le-Roi. Stop at "Les lampes" and take after the road "chemin des Montferrands".
